This is RAGLANSituated on the West Coast of the North Island at Latitude 37, Raglan enjoys a maritime climate with year round mild weather. This latitude is similar to San Francisco and Lisbon in the northern hemisphere.
Any time is a good time to visit although outdoor activities are more suited between September and April.
The town is easily accessible, a 2 hour drive south of Auckland International Airport and a 45 minute drive from Hamilton,Raglan Shuttle Service is available if so required. Raglan is a great holiday destination, ideal for a weekend get away or a base to explore the local area.
Increasingly the town is a stop over point for tourists traveling to or from Auckland Airport to explore the North Island West Coast and Waitomo Caves.
Raglan has a population of around 4000 and is spread around the southern shores of the harbour, with the surf beaches about 4km away, see Surf report.
The town has all the amenities and facilities expected in today's world including Medical centre, Pharmacy, Supermarket and Petrol Station. The Raglan area and harbour is also known by the Maori name of Whaingaroa.
